Get your Saturday mornings in gear with a lively discussion of a good book. This is a free benefit of your membership in SJSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

While there is no charge, you must pre-register by submitting a message to us or calling (408) 924-2734.

All discussions will take place on the SJSU campus from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Parking and room information will be available when you register.

2008 Book Discussions

Saturday, October 4 The World Without Us by Alan Weisman
Saturday, December 6 Where I Was From and
The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

Book Discussion Chair: Mary Johnson is a member of our OLLI at San Jose State. She has belonged to book groups and attended our previous OLLI book discussions. Mary has been teaching classes in stenciling and card making since 1985 for the Parks and Rec, senior centers and through her own business. Mary attended UC Davis, where she met Osher Member Roger. They were married in 1965 and have two children and one granddaughter.

Have a suggestion for a book to include in this series?
Contact us or call (408) 924-2734. We will forward your message to Mary.

Suggestion: Saturdays are a great day to sample downtown. Check out the main library. Visit the museum of art. Go to a movie or performance. Join some Other OLLI members for lunch after the discussion.
