A well published author of books for children will share his journey through the slush piles, agent searches as well as piles and piles of rejection letters. He will share hints and tips from his writing process and suggestions for those who hope to take the journey themselves.

David Michael Slater writes for children, teens and adults. He is the author of many beloved picture books, including Cheese Louise!; Jacques and Spock ( a children's book of the month club alternative selection); and Flour Girl (a Mom's Choice award winner). Slater's teen series, Sacred Books, launced in October 2008 with The Book of Nonsense (an Association of Booksellers from Children's Best Books 2008 finalist and Cybil award nominee). Selfless, his first novel for adults, was released March 2009. The Fall of 2009 will see the publication of seven picture books and a collection of short literary fiction.
